Smith Mountain Lake is a 20,600 acre, 40 mile long lake with over 500 miles of shoreline, located along the borders of Bedford, Franklin and Pittsylvania counties in southwestern Virginia in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The population figures below are for Full Time Residents and don't include our summer residents and the many visitors that frequent the area from all over the country.
